• Hi,

I am new to shopping carts. I want to add a page to my garden club website where I can sell 3 or 4 physical items. They are garden club pins, etc. My concern is that someone might purchase a pin, but the item is sold out so they will be paying for an item that is not there. Is there a free/simple shopping cart that I can enter a quantity, so that it will tell the customer it is sold out and not charge them if the last pin was bought earlier? I don’t expect a lot of traffic to that page, but got to wondering about quantities of items. How do most people handle this?

    Thanks

  • If you use WooCommerce, which is probably themost popular one these days, you can set up each products inventory with the amount that you have in stock, and set that product to not allow backorders, so you’ll only ever be able to sell as many as you tell the website are available.
