• I’m just launching a business and need to set up free users on my theme – Javo Directory. However, embarassingly I’m setting partners up but they can’t use the service. My users are all controlled by PMPro so I’m thinking this might be an issue linked to PMPro. For some reason if I set up a free user they can’t actually use the service. Only paid users can use it. I spoke to the payment gateway and they said to speak to PMPro. So I just wondered if anyone had experienced this or could offer any advice

Through a process of elimination deactivating all my plugins this is definitely a PMPro issue. I am losing opportunities at the moment as I need big companies on the site and as I have no traffic yet I need to offer them free memberships and not all of them are comfortable adding card details or have to jump through red tape to get hold of the company card and just dont feel it is important enough for them to do. These are fantastic future clients for me and unless I can offer them free memberships without having to add thei bank details I am going to lose those opportunities. Can anyone offer advice ?

    Hi there,

What you can do is the following:

    – Login to your WordPress dashboard
    – Navigate to ‘Memberships’ > ‘Membership Levels’ > ‘Add New’
    – When creating a new membership level, simply set the price to $0
    – Save your level

If your membership level is $0 (Free) the payment details will not be shown for that level at all and it will simply create a user with a membership level.

    I hope this helps ??

Thank you so much for getting back to me however, I’ve already tried that and no joy. Also the point is that as an admin, I should be able to assign a user in my dashboard to any paid plan on a complimentary bases without them having to sign-up and pay.

PM Pro are supposed to support this themselves. I paid for their premium support which costs nearly $200 p.a. and when I complained about literally waiting weeks for responses I was told my custom was unprofitable. They kindly refunded my account and left me high and dry. I’m now losing business as part of the launch is to set key accounts up on a complimentary basis in order to get some brands on the site I can name drop.

Thank you for your feedback. I trust you had a great weekend ??

You can simply do the following:

    1. Inside your WordPress dashboard, navigate to ‘Users’
    2. Select a user you would like to assign a membership to and select ‘edit’
    3. Once inside the edit profile page, you may scroll down and find ‘Memberships’
    4. You may select a membership level you would like to assign to that specific user and click save.

With the above method, you may assign a paying membership to a user for free and not bill them ??

    I hope this helps.
