• I understand the need for developers to make money from their plugins, but the reality is that there are many other plugins that let you compress as many images as you want, not only 38 a month for free. There are other ways to make people pay for a plugin, I don’t think limiting them to 38 image compressions a month is a good way when many other alternatives exist.

    Hi Boris,

Thanks for the feedback. Though, we are sorry to see that you experienced our plugin negatively. We do hope that the following can clear things up for you:

Our service offers 500 free PNG/JPEG compressions per month. In a regular scenario there are around 4 to 5 different sizes of images (thumbnails etc) which amounts to around 100 images (all sized) compressed for free each month. It seems your WordPress installation has 13 different sizes of each image which would indeed allow you to only compress 38 images for free each month.

We have seen before that other plugins create their own sizes of images and therefore we added an option to the media settings that allows you to deselect the sizes you don’t use / don’t want compressed.

We are always open to feedback and if you can propose a viable payment alternative we will also take that into consideration. Please note that next to the flexible payment plan we also offer fixed-price/fixed-amount subscriptions.

Hope to have informed you well, if you have any more questions please send them to [email protected].

    Hi Tinypng,

What is the link for buying the premium version of your plugin please?

Lol, could not find the link to buy in their site too. Please put a huge call button at the main menu (BUY NOW)

You have to go to https://tinypng.com/developers and fill in your email address to get a login link to your account page. There you can view your invoices, your current usage and also a form where you can fill in your credit card details. After you have coupled your credit card, the limit is removed and you don’t have to anything.

Thanks for your suggestion. We will see how we can make it easier for you.

I think your review is unduly harsh, boris514, and based on an inaccuracy, since the service is actually providing free compression for 500 images and not only 38. I understand on your particular site, this ends up feeling a little limited because of the large number of different sizes of a given image. Perhaps you could take those factors into account and reconsider your rating?
