Free Version Staging ?

    Hello,

    Do you have instructions on manually moving a site from staging to “live” using the free version?

    Hi @jdphoenix,

    Yes, we have a tutorial on how to migrate staging site to production site manually. Please make sure you are technically sound to deal with database and files. However the tutorial is very easy to follow.

    Okay, thanks. Last question, if I backup the Staging site using UpDraft before attempting to transfer and the move does not go as expected, can I restore and try again? Will the staging Database be restored as well?

    When you create a backup with wp staging you have to do that for the live and the staging site separately.

    Creating a backup of the live site will not backup the staging site and vice versa.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for the reply. Okay, I guess I’m just concerned about losing the staging database because it doesn’t appear to be stored separately in the cPanel. I’m assuming this is somehow tied into the “live” version?

    Appreciate your help on this. For this website, it is a one-time deal with very little management required moving forward. I very much see the benefit of the Pro version for websites that are managed more frequently. Guess I should have done a little more research beforehand to see the difficulty involved in doing it yourself. Thanks again.
