Free version vs multi-site version – different experiences
-
I downloaded the free version and liked it a lot! But I couldn’t resize the thumbnails of the pop-up gallery. Also the slider didn’t work well with WP 2017 theme. So I decided to purchase the multi-site license, which is a totally different version number. When I initially used the paid version, various components stopped working. I sent several emails asking for support. They did respond within 24 hours and suggested that it might be a plugin conflict. I stripped everything and it still didn’t work. I cleared my cache and finally decided to ask for a refund. They asked for a more detailed explanation of the issues so they can fix the problem. In the meantime I reverted back to the free version and everything worked again. Then I decided to go back to the paid version and suddenly it all started working again. I didn’t change anything other than change versions.
So here’re my general tips:
- Check if the free version may meet your needs. As much as I’d like to support the developers, I wasted a couple of days after upgrading. Not worth it.
- Test, test, test! When it wasn’t working, I was using Chrome. When I checked on IE, it worked fine. It didn’t work on my iPhone either.
- Do reach out to them to get tech support. They do respond.
