Freeze on editing Posts

    Hi,
    when I try to edit posts or topics I just get the “Working” circle in the upper right corner. the “Answer” headline siwtches to “Edit Post” but nothing else happens.
    I can’t see the edited post in the editor.
    If I enter some text an press submit, it creates a new answer.
    I can like and delete posts but not edit.

    The editing time period is appropriately set and it also happens for the admins.

    I think you have a JS error on your website and it affects wpForo JS functions. please leave an example topic URL to allow us debug it.

    I solved this issue.
    It is caused by the option “Do not use visual editor when writing” in the users profile.
    If you disable the visual editor you cannot edit posts in the forum.

    Looks like an odd design for me as it forces users to the visual editor in wp-admin.

    Please note, the insert attached file function is also depends on this, not it should work as well. The visual editor must be on for wpForo.

    I understand that I should not disable the visual editor? Is there a workaround?

    I’m sorry but there is not workaround, wpForo is designed with rich editor and you should enable it if you want to use this forum plugin. it has many features which are directly connected to rich editor, those have no chance o work with simple textare.

    Thank you gVectors Team. I suppose I didn’the explain my problem correctly. I was not looking to avoid the rich text editor. Quite the contrary. I would like to have the problem solved that is explained in the first post. I can’t edit my posts either and have the same “working” circle on the top right screen… The thread is marked as solved by deactivating the rich editor…
