  • I’m interested in too. I have read documentation about translation. It talks about WPML we need to purchase. My site is not a commercial one. I only need to change the opening days translation. It should be simple, shouldn’t it ?

There is no complete French translation, but you can export the ones that are translated here ( export link at the bottom ).

    @murrey35

If you want to make multiple translations then you can do this with WMPL, or a WPML compatible plugin ( which are free ).

But if you just want to translate it into a single language, then you can simply create your own language file as described here in the “Create translation files” section.

    Thanks a lot.
I will try to use the translate file in progress first.
    Great work, great support.

I have created both files (wpsl-fr_FR.mo & wpsl-fr_FR.po) in /wp-contents/languages as mentionned in documentation (Create translation files). I have added translation only for weekdays. And when I click on marker from the map, it doesnt’ show the french translation.

    Did I forget something ?

The new language file needs to go into /wp-content/languages/wp-store-locator and not /wp-content/languages.

The site language is also set to French? You can check this under settings -> general -> Site Language.

I’ve just copied the both files into /wp-content/languages/wp-store-locator. However it’s still in english.
My site language in settings / General / site language is defined in french.
    I have 2 files into wp-content\languages\wp-store-locator:
    – wpsl-fr_FR.mo (11ko)
    – wpsl-fr_FR.po (48ko)

I precise in wp-admin weekday is in french (lundi, mardi, etc). What I want it’s on the map, when I click on marker to have details of the store, it’s still in english. May be it’s linked to google maps ?

I just checked the French translation, and the line it refers to for the weekdays is incorrect. Not sure why that is, I didn’t create the French translation but it points to line 201 for ‘Monday’ while it should point to line 211.

The wpsl.pot in the /wp-content/plugins/wp-store-locator/languages folder does refer to the correct line. So what you can do is open that file, save it as wpsl-fr_FR, set the language to French and then it should work.

Also make sure you clear the store locator transient cache, you can do this on the wpsl settings page in the tools section ( at the bottom ).

    Great
I only clear the store locator transient cache, and it works. Thanks you very much.
