French translation not working :(

  • Hi everyone,
    I like this theme so much and I really want to thanks the author for creating it.
    Anyway I got a big problem :

    French translation doesn’t work. I decided to translate it but the theme auto-generate every time two files (../languages/themes/graphy-fr_FR.po and .mo) who are wrong and take priority on my translation.

    And did you upload the mo file as “../languages/themes/graphy-fr_FR.mo”?
    “../themes/graphy/languages/” folder doesn’t work in recent WordPress.

    Yes, I did. You’ve explained it in another post.

    I put my files in “../languages/themes/fr_FR.mo”. I named it fr_FR.mo because graphy-fr_FR.mo doesn’t work and it’s OK. I get my theme translated.

    The problem is that few minutes/hours later the theme auto-generate a false French “graphy-fr_FR.mo” who overrides (taking priority) on my fr_FR.mo ??

    That’s strange. Please try to upload the mo file as “../languages/themes/graphy-fr_FR.mo” again.

    This is normal behavior of WordPress and you can’t stop it.

    I did it and it doesn’t work. Anyway if i rename the file fr_Fr.mo then the translation starts magically working (until WordPrsse generare a graphy-fr_Fr.mo for sure).

    Well, please try to use Loco Translate plugin.
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/
    If it works, it may be a problem with your mo file.

    Anyway if i rename the file fr_Fr.mo then the translation starts magically working (until WordPrsse generare a graphy-fr_Fr.mo for sure).

    This is normal behavior of WordPress.
