I was hoping someone could point to a link that would walk me through a clean re-installation of WordPress. I’m hoping there’s a process for this where I won’t lose the posts and pages I’ve produced up to this point.

I did the initial install through DreamHost. Recently, however, whenever I use DreamHost’s ‘one-click’ updates, their robot always generates an error message (via email) to the effect:

“We were unable to set up wordpress as requested at: https://www.myblog.com/ .The problem was directory /home/myblog/myblog.com is not empty! Please re-install, specifying an empty (or new) directory.

Please correct this and go to our web panel and re-submit your wordpress installation request.

    Thanks, and sorry about that!
    The Happy DreamHost Installer Robot”

Also, the standard install seems to want to place WordPress files and folders in a subdirectory named ‘wordpress’ (https://www.myblog.com/wordpress). My original install has the wordpress files and folders in the root (https://www.myblog.com). I’d prefer to comply with the standard folder structure for WordPress.

As always, any help is appreciated.
