I might be askign this in the wrong place. You have probably seen my discussion here:

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/freshness-doesnt-seem-to-update-as-quickly-any-more/

It then occurred to me that I am showing freshness based on settings in the style pack. Since I upgraded to 2.6 I lost some of the speed of freshness updating.

I always understood that sub forums could have an issue but not primary forums.

All of mine were sets of primary forums underneath 3 primary categories. I won’t repeat what I have already put in the ppBress forum but I just wondered if the cause (which is happening to other bbPress users) might be style pack related?

Freshness and ‘speed’ is a bit weird.

The site should update freshness immediately. There is no ‘time’ involved, maybe only a number of events, but nothing based on just time elapsing.

Are you using any caching plugins ?

The system does have a cache plugin activated but this issue was not happening in 5.2.4

    I presume you mean 2.5.14 ??

I don’t think the hook I use had changed between 2.5.14 and 2.6.1, but when I get a moment I’ll take a look

I see form bbpress that you have changed caching plugin, so I’ll close this item for the moment

This thread is noted as “resolved” – but I am seeing the same problem. My primary page is taking at least 24 hours to refresh. This began to happen three days ago. There have been 2-3 bbstylepack updates since then but they have not fixed it. I can’t refresh with F5 or a reload, nor can I refresh by closing and reopening the browser, trying a different browser, or even opening an incognito browser. I do have a caching plugin, but I had the caching plugin long before I ever used bbpstylepack – more than 3 years for both. This has just begun to happen, as @ajtruckle mentioned. Here is the primary page: https://myapha.org/connect/ Unfortunately, the subpages are protected by a membership plugin so you can’t click to see those, but there are posts that are only a few hours to a few minutes old.

    I found this:

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/problems-with-wp-super-cache-plugin-and-bbpress-deep-integration/

So I have added /support-forums/ to the area mentioned to see if the forum area of my site will stop caching … ??

@anitasmithers – this is not a style pack issue, nothing I have changed in recent releases would affect this. It may well be a bbpress 2.6.1 issue, which was released at the same time, and 2.6.1 seems to be less tolerance with some caching plugins.

It is marked as resolved here because I believe it is not style pack related.

Robin – I have posted in the bbpress forum now. I continue to have this problem even with WP Supercache totally deleted, several days ago (including additional code WPSuperCache adds to the site.) The Forum index page freshness does not update. All the other pages do.

I’m new to the forum. If something is “resolved” is there an easy way to find that resolution? This is one of the only recent threads I’ve found on the “freshness” issue. Running “Recalculate last activity in each topic and forum” tool brings everything up to date, but new activity doesn’t keep updating the last activity most of the time.
