Hi team. I hope you are well

Im writing here due that today I′ve received a notification from my hosting that my wordpress version had been upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.2.3 version. Nothing weird so far.

Some hours after trying to access to dashboard i found the following error

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

For more information about HTTP errors, see Help.

I′ve tried to get access from wp-admin and wp-login.php but without any success. I tried to find anything on google but nothing so far, i guess due upgraded was made recently.

So in this case, what should be doing on configuration files in order to recover my site??

PD: I tried renaming the plugin folder but nothing happens

PD2. Im gonna put this URL that appear just when I try to get access to admin area

    https://josedanielchacon.com/site/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fjosedanielchacon.com%2Fsite%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

If that gets you some clue about the issue, it might less hard to identify it.

Thanks in advance for your suggests and valuable help.
    Daniel

  • If I’m reading correctly, you cannot access the dashboard, but you have back-end access (maybe through SSH?)

If so, is it possible for you to rename your active theme? If WordPress can’t find your active theme, it should try to load a default (not sure if this has anything to do with not loading the backend dashboard, but it’s something to try.

No, i didnt get access from SSH. I accessed to my website from Cpanel′s hosting. I mean with this that is not possible to get access to dashboard from web browser typing my domain going specifically to both /wp-admin and wp-login.php

This just happened inmediately after upgrade 4.2.3.

Now, checking the URL admin I got the following error

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Is there anything that i can do in my hosting to fix the access?

    Thanks in advantage

Is there a way to access your directory through SSH?

I never tested that option and I think its gonna be unnecessary in this moment.

What I did to get working login prompt (wp-login.php) to dashboard?

At hosting side, i opened up the folder installation and I made backup of wp-login.php (renaming it), I duplicated that file, then i renamed it to original name and I tested it on web browser and It worked :S

Im happy because i got blog my running up but im a little dissapointed because to me is hard to understand why an upgrade could *damage/corrupt* a file and after renaming it, it come back working as nothing would have passed…

tbennettcc Thank you anyway for your effort and answer. I have really appreciated it. Take Care,

    Cheers.
