• GADWP used to be the best free Google Analytics Plugin on WordPress and a perfect example of an open source plugin done right. It was an install-on-every-client-site-plugin along with ACF, CPT UI and others.

However since it was acquired by Exact Metrics / Monster Insights team the following has occurred.

    • Most free functionality has been removed and locked behind a paywall
    • Aggressively up-sells these previous free features back to you
    • It is intrusive, popups everywhere, usually on the up-sell
    • Charges exorbitant prices to show your own data on your dashboard (from $199-$399 per year per website)
    • Most worryingly of all it makes you have to give up a lot of permissions when it comes to your data and share it with this third party

NO THANKS! and absolutely no surprise that a 4+/5 plugin is now rated 2.3/5 and still dropping faster than a lead balloon.

To be 100% clear I am sure the plugin is well coded and it does display data well it just goes against everything the plugin was before.
