Just changed email account from host site to an external service (outlook exchange). All emails generated from WordFence, Updraft Plus and even the Easy WP SMTP plugin which I have been using for years is not only sending to the admin email, but also placing a copy in the customer sent box.

A clearer explanation is that Updraft Plus lets me check a box to send daily notifications to the site’s admin email address. It is doing that, but it is sending from the domain email account and putting a copy of that email in the customer’s sent email folder.

I need to change the name of the source of the From Email back to WordPress and not the email listed in this plugin.

I have unchecked the option Force FROM EMAIL, but that makes no difference.

    Hi, @octotoot!

    Thanks for reaching out!

If you want to change the “From Name”, please, disable the “Force From Name Replacement” option in the plugin’s settings. Please, look at the screenshot.

I apologize if I’m missing something. In such a case, could you please share more details or an example (screenshot) of what you’re looking to do?

    Kind regards.

    I don’t think I explained it properly.

What’s going on is that all internal emails, which are plugin reports going to the admin, are going through successfully.  But in addition they’re being sent to the customer’s  sent box in her email. When she opens her email and looks at her sent box, she sees all these emails that she supposedly generated to the admin, which is me. These emails are generated through these various plug-ins (what’s in the from email address) sent folders and she sees it in her email. This internal email is from wordfence, updraft plus, this plug-in, gravity forms and many others. I unchecked the box about forcing emails no matter what the plug-in says but that has no effect.

Before I changed hosting sites and before she moved to the Microsoft exchange server for her email, this plugin did not behave that way. Emails that were being generated through wordfence, for example, were delivered to the admin, and the email header, said WordPress@herdomain.?

    Hi, @octotoot!

Thanks for sharing the additional details!

Regarding the emails that appear in the customer’s mailbox “sent” folder

Please kindly know, that it’s how Microsoft Outlook works, and we can’t affect this.

    Regarding the From Email

Microsoft Outlook forces the From Email on any part of your website to match the email address for the account you’ve connected.

This is Microsoft’s demand so you can send authenticated emails. So, you can’t simply change the From Email to [email protected].

    Best regards.
