I should mention that I am a beginner and the wordpress site was created together with a company. I recently made some changes to the site and uninstalled a plugin that I felt was useless and had become paid for. Since I deleted it, the site has become blank screen. I don’t know whether it is the fault of that plugin or not, but I contacted the hosting company and they told me to activate from their site settings the item to display errors. I did so and instead of the blank screen there was a very long error starting with ‘Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_field’ etc.

In addition to this in the WP settings site I display in the ‘mandatory plugins’ page 2 plugins…but I don’t have one of them! I thought it was the one I had mistakenly deleted, but I don’t think it was. This mandatory plugin is Local by Flywheel Relative URL (for Live Links). I still don’t understand how it works, in the meantime I’ve installed it on my PC, then I’ll see if using it changes anything.

Meanwhile… I don’t know why but my site has reappeared! But in half!

The blog works but the main pages and the main menu don’t show up. Basically there are fields (tables with prices, background of the home page…) that cannot be seen.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @intercultura

The error message suggests that the plugin you uninstalled was likely Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or a similar plugin that enables custom fields, which are now missing. Reinstall Advanced Custom Fields to restore missing content. If the issue persists, check the theme’s required plugins or re-enable any plugins listed as “mandatory” in WP settings.

Thanks for answer, I suppose that the problem is in the fields, but in the plugin ACF it’s written :

    ACF Extended requires?Advanced Custom Fields PRO?(minimum: 5.8)

I dont’ know how is it possible because I used in the past I think.

And, about the mandatory plugin, it is an external software to create a local server, I will try it after understand the problem with ACF.

    Hello @intercultura

It sounds like you may need to install or update to Advanced Custom Fields PRO (minimum version 5.8) to resolve compatibility issues with ACF Extended. This version requirement may explain the ‘undefined function’ error. Once ACF is updated, you can check if the mandatory plugin or your local setup impacts the site.

    Update!!!

Thanks for your answer, but reticently I studied how WP works and now I know that the mandatory plugin is installed. I cannot see it, but it is in /wp-content/mu-plugins as it is supposed to be.

And i remembered that ACF gave me the message to convert in PRO before I started to have problems, before the blank page. So this is not the main problem, I think!

So my question is: why I can see the page but not the fields? There is some necessary plugin to visualize them and I have to install it?

    Another update

Actually my site is fully blank. I cannot see anything. On the home page there is the error but I cannot understand it. Sorry, I did a mistake, but now I don’t know how to fix it!

I had a blank page one week ago, but one day it disappeared and i did not understand why, so I am in the same situation.

    Now I solved.

I change the name of the theme to reactivate ACF in a default theme, and then my site comes back.

I bought the licence to ACF pro and now it works.
