From old MojoBlog in Joomla to WordPress 4.3.1

  • My friend is using is using a now defunct MojoBlog (a Joomla component that created a basic WordPress blog inside of Joomla) on an old Joomla 1.0.15 instance and I’d like to export the posts & categories to current WordPress and I’m feeling stymied. Even though I can easily download the specific MojoBlog tables in PHPMyAdmin, I don’t know where to go from there.

    ? I could try to bridge the export by installing a instance of WordPress 2.9 which was released in the same era as MojoBlog but I’m afraid that my server’s version of PHP is too new.
    ? A straight PHPMyAdmin export of MojoBlog to WP 4.3.1 has many fields and tables that don’t match

    Any direction would be a great help.
