    Good day all,

This is my second post and the problem has yet to be resolved.

I already have WP installed in the blog sub-directory, but I want to administrate the the whole website rather than just the blog, so I was referred to

    Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install

However I have index.php & .htaccess in the root associated with my website shopping cart. Therefore, is there any other way to solve this problem?

    Thanks and appreciate it ??

As govpatel said in the other post:

If you have any other website with index.php file in root then I am afraid to say that you will have use wordpress from directory as you can not have two index files in folder.

What is the shopping software you are using in the root of your site?

Well my question then is how to administrate the main website using a sub-directory rather than root?

    I am using PrestaShop.

Not sure if I understand the question. What do you mean by “administrate the main website”. Do you want to merge Prestashop and WordPress?

Not sure if I could merge them in one index.php & .htaccess. All I am trying to do is use WP for the whole website because at the moment I can only use WordPress on the blog only. I guess I will have to find a way to move the PrestaShop files to a sub-directory and then move WP to the root.

Merging is not possible, moving it the other way around is. Maybe using a WordPress shop plugin and administrate the store and blog within WordPress is a solution?

I might try doing that but I guess I will have to lose the DB associated with Prestashop.

Thanks a lot keesiemeijer for the help and info. I really appreciate it
