• This is something I would love to do but my php just isn’t up to it.

    Theres a plugin called Multiple content blocks

    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/multiple-content-blocks/

    that would work amazingly well with the Front-end Editor plugin if they were combined.

    Multiple content blocks allows you to add extra content blocks with the code

    <?php the_block('yourblockname');?>

    So you get numerous text areas you can edit in the backend

    However, this feature does not work with the Front-end Editor plugin.

    If it did, you would be able to setup complete div structures, tables, all sorts of content sections with editable fields and make possibly the single biggest jump yet in making wordpress a full cms.

    I would mean you could have people editing text at the front end that was wrapped in divs, tables, h tags and anything else you could want in a very intricate way, and they would be able to edit it it extremly easily without any risk at all of deleting the layout elements.

    Does anyone have an interest in working on this?

    I am happy to help out as well (though as I say my php is basic)

    Possibly the author of the content blocks plugin would be avaliable to help as well

    https://plugins.trendwerk.nl/

    I would imagine if both authers are interested, this could be done without insane amounts of effort, and it would create a monster plugin!

    If either author (I have contacted the author of the multiple content blocks plugin) or anyone else would like to get involved in try to make these 2 plugins work together, reply here, if you wish contact me because you think you can help organise this then please contact me at [email protected]

    Thanks
