Hello,

I think that it’s a great plugin! I have installed the Lite version.
My problem is about translating some front-end words. I say some, because my website is in greek so the dates are in greek. I want to translate some words in single event page like “DATE”, “TIME” and “SHARE THIS EVENT” on the right column.

I have followed the instructions in https://webnus.net/dox/modern-events-calendar/translate-mec/ starting with the pot file. I have made some translations, I saved it as “modern-events-calendar-lite-el_GR.po” and both .po and .mo files were uploaded in “wp-content/plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/languages” folder.

Unfrtunately i don’t see any changes in my front-end.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Hi @flipside37 you need to name the files
modern-events-calendar-lite-el.po and
modern-events-calendar-lite-el.mo

Also you can help us translate the plugin for all Greek users via the https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/stable/el/default/

@lenasterg and @flipside37 I have contributed some translations already and perhaps I can do some more. I just did so and then stumbled upon this thread. I think that an important thing to agree upon is how the string “Event” will be translated. We have some options like “Εκδ?λωση”, “Συμβ?ν”, “Δρ?μενο”. Perhaps we should take this discussion somewhere else though.

@webnus it seems to me that that “DAY”, “HRS”, “MIN”, “SEC” in countdown is not translatable.

Hello acicovic,

About the translation of the term “Event”, I think that “Εκδ?λωση” is the right choice. The other two terms are more confusing.

The countdown words can be translated. I have done that in .po file. Just search and find the words “days”, “hours”, “minutes”, “seconds”. Don’t forget to translate the singular as well, because I had to change it two times.
