    Hi Mat,

In another thread I suggested that on the front end it would be better to show just a single ‘Attach’-button. Clicking that button could unhide a div or popup a lightbox for handling the attachment procedure.
That way you have a cleaner interface which is better for user experience.

You replied you disagreed and wouldn’t concern implementing this because:

this plugin isn’t for everybody I guess, since it’s very special in it’s functionality, it’s for people who want to attach files to their comments regulary, not once a year.

    • Plugins aren’t for end users but for website admins. For this plugin it means it’s not the user who decides he wants to (regulary) attach a file to a comment. It’s the website who offers him that possibility.
    • As a plugin author you can’t possibly know what websites will eventually use it. One website may offer it as a perhaps seldom used nice extra, the other may make it mandatory. And everything in between.

I can’t see a reason why you shouldn’t concider implementing my suggestion. You have the pro of a nice interface and yet all the functionalities with just one button click.

Well, first of all, my name is Martin, and I sign my posts as “Mart”, so I’m not “Mat”.

Secondly I think we’ve covered this in your previous thread, I’m really not going to implement javascript solution to hide and unhide upload button. What if someone really needs the upload to be there all the time, are the people gonna click all the time to show it, I know what you’re gonna say, create an option in the admin to make it hidden or shown all the time.

The answer is still no, it’s a purely PHP plugin, I’m not implementing any frontened javascript, sorry mate.

Well, first of all my humble excuses for misspelling your name.

Secondly I think you’re absolutely right. It’s YOUR plugin so you decide how and what and why.

No problem for me though: I’ll write my own plugin.

No worries mate. And yes, you should absolutely do that ;).
