• Hey there

I have recently taken over a website that at the minute is very admin heavy and I would like to automate most elements. The part I am having difficulties with is the option for certain users to be able via a front end form post competition results. I can create a table that is blank but would want the end user to fill this out and then this form create a new post without approval or me having to then press any buttons. In any one weekend we could have x20 people posting results which at this moment in time is a manual process. Can this be automated with a plugin does anybody know or any other suggestions please?

  • Yes, you can automate something like that. However, this is a rather individual requirement. I don’t know what kind of competitions you are talking about. I guess it’s about entering results of competitions and creating a new post automatically? What do you currently use to enter the competition data?

Hi thank you for your response at this moment the user sends over an excel spreadsheet and I have to then manually input the results. The site is a dog scentwork competition site that has 8 levels. Trial managers run two competitions in the one day so could be level 1 and a level 4 for instance. The table has competitor name, dog name then each round has a number of points and a time this is then recorded at the end. So if I could create a templated table say for instance in ninja tables what I would then want is the trial manager to input scores into the templated table then on submit would create a post live on the site showing the results saving me a load of time and hassel? So far I have looked at a couple of plugins that have front end capability but without paying I’m not sure if they do want I want them to do and therefore haven’t progressed. also not sure if this is the right approach?

If you are using Ninja Tables for the table, it should be an event provided by them that generates the posting. Therefore it is best to contact their support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/ninja-tables/

I suspect there will be no ready-made plugin or code for this. You will probably have to write the code yourself or hire someone to help you. You can find someone like that here: https://jobs.wordpress.net
