    Hi,

I’ve recently finished developing new WP website within the same server that my old was sitting on. Old one was in wp1 folder, new one in wp2. I’ve redirected my main domain drom wp1 to wp2 folder and changed both WP and Site addresses in WP admin settings of my new website.

Now all subpages based on slugs are working fine but my front pages (I have my web in two languages – English and Polish) do not work. English one (address should be maindomain.info) is directing to my dev address like abc.server.pl/wp2 but with 404 error. Polish front page only says “File not found” (it should be maindomain.info/pl). When I go into editting of both front pages I see that both permalinks are the old ones (abc.server.pl/wp2 and abc.server.pl/wp2/pl).

After redirecting the domain and changing both URLs in settings I’ve only tried one more thing – deleting htaccess and going to Settings>Permalinks>Post name (it was set like this all the time)>Save but it didn’t change anything.

    I currently use following Plugins:
404page – your smart custom 404 error page
    All-in-One WP Migration
    Chaty
    Code Snippets
    Custom Icons for Elementor
    Duplicate Page
    Elementor
Elementor – Header, Footer & Blocks
    Envato Elements
    Essential Addons for Elementor
    Forminator
    Happy Elementor Addons
    MetForm
    Ninja Forms
    Polylang
    Polylang Connect for Elementor
    Popup Maker
    Premium Addons for Elementor
    Really Simple SSL
    Starter Templates
Sticky Menu (or Anything!) on Scroll
    Styler for WPForms
    Unlimited Elements for Elementor
    UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore
    Virtue/Ascend/Pinnacle Toolkit
    Wordfence Security
    WPForms Lite
    Yoast SEO

What could be an issue here? Why those two pages addresses (that happen to be front pages) did not change like all the other pages? I am thinking maybe my Polylang plugin has to do with this?

    Update:

I’ve duplicated my English front page (“Home”) and named it Home2, I’ve set the duplicated page as a new English front page, changed the Polish front page (“Strona glowna”) translation from Home to Home2.

Now when I edit Home2 I see the right permalink (maindomain.info) there but it still redirects to abc.server.pl/wp2 which gives 404 error. However after these changes Polish translation of the front page both have a right permalink in edit (maindomain.info/pl) and it works under that permalink.

Any idea why there still is a problem with English front page? Why does the maindomain.info redirects to abc.server.pl/wp2 despite the permalink in edit of that page is right?

In your menu editing page (Dashboard > Appearance > Menus) Add the entry for your HOME page again, and then delete the old entry, remember to SAVE.

    My workaround solution:
I’ve duplicated both front pages, set them up as front pages and it worked that way.
