I am using the zenon light theme which bears a layout of a slider followed by blocks on the front page. The blocks are only editable through a theme specific tab under appearance called ‘Zenon Theme Options’. I am preparing to add spanish and french versions for the website. I have installed Polylang successfully and added the additional languages. In all the other elements of wordpress (slider, pages, posts) I can see that the additional languages have been added and there is an option for me to click and add the versions in other languages. However in the blocks section, there are no such options and the appearance of the options remain the same as before the polylang install. I contacted the theme developer who is always very helpful and prompt with feedback. He provided me with instructions to change some code on index.php however this has not worked, he then advised me to contact polylang.

Any thoughts / comments would be very much appreciated.

Copy paste this https://pastebin.com/hzSeiQCk in a text file. It is not complete so you will need to modify it to add the options I did not add (you can find them in the file wp-content/themes/zenon-lite/options.php).

Then save the text file with a .php extension, upload it in your wp-content/plugins directory. Activate the plugin and go to settings->languages->strings translations. The strings you enter in theme options should be available for translation.

    hi Chouby,

what should we name the file ??

whatever you want. For example pll_zenon.php

    okay,

but what is happening is i add the file to the poylang folder so in the wp admin it sees it as a plug in so i activate it then i check the string translation for the plugin it still the same nothing has been added also the file i add was deleted?

I you add a file in the polylang directory, it will be deleted each time you update the plugin.

The file code linked is a new plugin and the rule with WordPress plugins is one plugin per directory.

    Hi Amin,

I am having the same issue, did you manage to get the language options in the blocks?

Mtomasmo7, yes it did work I followed the instructions and the options now appear for the translation of these sections. I have not actually published the multi-lingual website yet so I am unable to comment on how this follows through to end result but will post if there are any problems. Have you managed to sort yours out?
