Front-page carousel misbehaves on mobile

Hi, I noticed that on mobile the front-page carousel is not displayed properly. Sometimes there are 2 slides (one at the top and the other at the bottom) and other times there are blank slides in-between featured images. The carousel also occupies a lot of blank space at the bottom. Any idea what’s wrong and how to fix it?
