• Hello

    My site is https://www.paulkporterphotography.com

I am really liking the Dyad theme as it works really well with my site.

Is it possible to have a front page that scrolls through full screen photographs? I have tried the headers, and randomised headers, but that does not seem to work. My current image is a featured image of my front page.

As a photographer, I would like striking images at the forefront of my website, and I am not quite sure how to do it.

    Thank you in advance

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

    I’m glad you’re enjoying Dyad!

To make sure I understand you clearly: I can see you currently have a slider set up on your Blog page. Would you like to set up something similar on your front page?

Making such a big change would require some comfort with HTML and PHP. If you’re comfortable with that then the first step is for you to set up a child theme.

In case you’re unsure, the following guides provide a good introduction to child themes, including steps to set one up:

Let me know if you decide to set up a child theme and if my assumption about your end goal was correct, we can work from there.

    Hi Siobhan,

Thank you for getting back to me, sorry for my lack of reply.

Yes, that is right, large pictures taking up the whole page and scrolling between one another is what I want. If they are buttons to further webpages, that would be amazing too. I have had a look at the sites you recommended and I am not really that comfortable with coding. I shall look at them some more and see where I can get to.

    Thank you
