front page order posts by id, not by date

I am in need of my wordpress loop to be sorted by ID, highest ID first as that it the last created post. The reasoning behind this is that my post’s timestamp changes often which completely screws up the order of the posts. Is it possible to modify wordpress so that it orders by post id rather than time?
