• Resolved lmWP

    (@lmwp)

    Hi!
I recently updated wordpress and after the update, I am only able to have my t my home page widgets to display within a sidebar, as opposed to the main wrapper of the page, as they were before the update.
The slider is displayed, but my featured pages and other widgets are all along the sidebar, not neatly underneath.
I am at a loss for what has happened. Seems like an easy fix that my tired eyes aren’t seeing. Any suggestions?

We have tried to figure out the issue you’ve mentioned. For this, we have tested this theme on the latest version of WP. But we have not faced any sort of problem that you’ve mentioned. So please send us your site link or kindly send us the screenshot of the issue so that we can dig more on this.

Thank you so much for the reply and any help you can provide. I know that it must be a simple fix.

In an attempt to resolve this is what I did:
    Widgets
    Theme sidebars
    Front Page Widget Area
    Sidebar locations
    Archives
    Archive types
As Sidebar for selected Archive Types
    selected the frontpage

It looks like we have found the issue.

    – Make sure you have placed ‘Corporate Welcome Widget’, ‘Corporate Service Widget’ and ‘Corporate CTS Widget’ on the sidebar ‘Front Page Widget Area’ instead of default sidebar.

    – Make sure you choose your front page as static page and with no sidebar template.

    This should fix your problem.

These were already in place. ‘Corporate Welcome Widget’, ‘Corporate Service Widget’ and ‘Corporate CTS Widget’ int the sidebar ‘Front Page Widget Area’ and are not located the default sidebar. This sidebar has other features.

I have also selected no side bar template for the front page — which is what is confusing me the most. It is still giving it a side bar, even though I have the no side bar template selected.

I just updates to 1.0.9 and the front page widget area has disappeared. I can’t edti it in the theme customize options at all. It just disappeared.

The ability to add things to it in the widgets menu is still there, but it’s not displaying anywhere on the page. And the sidebar is now visable on the front page, even though I selected no sidebar in the options.

    Hello,

In the latest we have updated the theme as per Theme Review rule that theme should respect the Static page if assigned. So, in the latest setup:
    * If no page is assigned as static page (that means, Your latest posts is selected under Front page displays in Settings -> Reading), widgets from Front Page Widget Area are displayed.
    * If page is assigned, then that only page content is displayed (Widgets are not displayed)

To solve your issue now, you could remove static page assignment and put widgets you have placed in Sidebar to Front Page Widget Area.

Also, thanks for pointing out the bug regarding sidebar layout of front page. When No Sidebar options is selected in the assigned page, sidebar should have been hidden. We will fix this bug and update our theme as soon as possible.

    Thanks

This worked for me. Changing the (settings->reading) settings to “latest posts” made the front page widget section return, and solved the sidebar issue for me.

    Thank you.
