That’s a very good question, Georgio! Right now, we don’t have any immediate plans to add front-end interfaces to Buoy for several reasons, but as we continue to develop the tool, we are planning on creating several theme and plugin hooks for other developers to create new and extend existing interfaces to Buoy features.

If you want to help us determine what these hooks should be so that themes and other components can make the best use of them, consider joining us in our project chat room to discuss this! You can also open an issue ticket on our project management tracker here.

Thank you @meitar for your quick response. I am not a developer and don’t have technical knowledge to help in this project. I am launching a site for professionals and I thought that Buoy could be useful for professional emergencies. I see that Buoy doesn’t fit my needs at this moment and it will take much time to have frontend access. So I will look for something else. Have a nice day !

No worries, glad I could get you an answer. ??

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by “professional emergencies?”

    Some examples:

-people who travel and need to be in constant contact with their business
    -difficult or risky jobs
-work under difficult circumstances (bad weather, mountain, sea etc)
    -missions in dangerous countries
-urgent problems in business in not working hours
    -every external coordination
    -assistance in completing tasks remotely

The problem with dashboard access is that many plugins have options on posts and pages. For example a simple member can see my membership options and manipulate the “plugin organizer” for the page they create. If some plugins are not loaded with the page the results will affect not only the page, but the image of the site.

Thanks, those are good examples. Some of them are examples I think are related to what we’re building for so it would be good to keep them in mind.

This seems like a problem with the given plugin, not about whether Dashboard access is available. Plugins should be responsible for exposing only the functionality a given user capability permits, and for implementing access control checks on their own features.

You are right. I had a problem with the given plugin and I fixed it. I still have problems with other plugins that show system information and alerts to simple users and I hope to fix them as well by contacting their authors. So I reconsider my decision and I think that I can use Buoy which seems to be a wonderful and very useful tool. I will test it and give you feedback.
    Thank you very much!

Glad to hear that, Georgio! Looking forward to your feedback on Buoy. Remember that you can always email us anytime in addition to posting in this forum. ??
