Zephyr looks awesome … great work … and hope it continues to be successful, growing and improving.

    ======
    ** TL:DR **
-> How do we integrate into our community, with display/access controls for BuddyBoss Groups
-> Being able to hook in to Zephyr activities with AutomatorWP somehow

    ======

I run a community #techforgood site, where we work on tech solutions to solve humanitarian and environmental problems.

Community, transparency and collaboration is just as important as clarity and security.

    We use:
    – BuddyBoss (buddypress) for collaborative groups, profiles and discussions.
    – AutomatorWP (with Gamipress) for enabling a nice experience, rewards/recognition and integrations with our other wordpress tools (and things like slack, etc)
    – LearndashLMS (in BuddyBoss) for onboarding and providing the right procedure and support for people working on certain initiatives and joining our community.

    >>EVERYTHING IS FRONT-END<<

We NEED a project and task management system that will allow us to easily enable those who have joined a BuddyBoss GROUP to access the project and resources for that area of work.

We have group leaders, and groups contributors.
    – The group leaders manage everything for the group from the front-end … content, memberships, discussions, course/lessons AND HOPEFULLY projects and tasks for that group.
Group Contributors are the volunteers working on the tasks and collaborating with each other to progress the work forward. They should only have access to the projects, tasks, group, files, etc for the group they are a member of.

    ___
We have the groups segmented to work on a FEATURE/MODULE group of work … users join/invited to the group, do the lesson for that group so they know what the group is doing and will be able to successfully collaborate with others in the group.

We want to be able to have PROJECTS (and it’s assets) available for the group, but without them seeing other projects (and assets) from other groups.

    ___
I’ve looked at the short-codes, as well as the front-end layout examples on the website … but, I can not work out how I may be able to do this – it is something I’d desperately like to have working … but, I am lost as to how this could be done.

    Re: AutomatorWP & Gamipress

As we are a volunteer organisation, we don’t reward people with dollars, and we have no paid staff.

What we do have is a system called “impact points” … and we use Gamipress as a way to award points, show leaderboards, give badges, etc to reward people and celebrate those who are doing great things.

AutomatorWP is a great way for us to be able to automate this, and other parts that help gel together our community vibe and interactions … helping visibility and teamwork to happen.

If the projects, tasks, status, custom-fields, comments, and all the meta is custom post types in wordpress, it means we SHOULD be able to hook into these and run automatinos off them … as an activity log, so users can see progress in THEIR group/projects, award points based on work, comments (support) contributions, etc … add active contributors to leader-boards, give visibility and transparency to someones “impact-points” … and help motivate people, and help people know how valued their contributions are.

It also helps us know when someone may be struggling, so we can offer support … and guide them how to be able to better contribute in the projects they have access to.

Perhaps there are hooks, that when a new buddyboss group is created, it auto-creates a TEAM in Zephyr to access the projects in that group??

    Hi Max,

Thanks for the kind words and the message. Please find my answers below:

    1. Having groups only view tasks and projects assigned/created by them:
This is possible by going to Zephyr > Settings > General Settings and under the Permissions setting making sure the user roles have the ‘View Assigned Tasks’ and ‘View Assigned Projects’ permissions enabled and the ‘View Tasks’ and ‘View Projects’ permissions disabled.
This will make it so that users can view projects and tasks they create and also tasks and projects assigned to them as mentioned.

    2. Regarding the automation questions:
I have built an experimental add-on as it was requested before. It is a webhook plugin that also integrates with AutomatorWP adding Zephyr specific actions and triggers. I will send the plugin via email. Once installed, you should see a new Webhook option under the Zephyr menu in the dashboard where you can create actions/triggers. And you should also see Zephyr Project Manager in AutomatorWP.

    I hope this helps.

    Kindest regards,
    Dylan

Hello @dylanjkotze , is there any chance you can share that experimental plugin with me as well? I am look for the very same thing and having it as a base or reference would be awesome. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @hyperart,

I would be happy to send it to you.

Could you send me an email to [email protected] so I can send you the plugin files or let me know which email I can send it to?

    Thank you.

    Kindest regards,
    Dylan
