Frontend form to choose categories of subscriptions

Hello,

Is there a way to add somewhere in a page (if possible in the page of a “frontend edit profile page” such as Theme My Login, WP User Frontend or Frontend Edit Profile) a form to choose which categories users of the website want to receive notifications for?

I noticed, by searching on Google, that a little addon called “TT Subscribe2 Front End Addon” has been made several years ago, but it doesn’t work and isn’t supported anymore by his author.
