Is there a setting that lets me control what user roles are eligible for submitting (unmoderated) posts?

I don’t want to let all subscribers publish events, but only those approved to do so. The settings refer to “privileged” users, but I couldn’t find a description of what a privileged user is, or how they are set.

    Thanks for any information!

Sorry, figured it out – I see there’s a user role Event Contributor.

    Hi,

    Administrator
Administrators can create more Administrators, invite new users, remove users, and change user roles. They have complete control over events, uploaded files, imports, other users.

    Editor
An Editor can create, edit, publish, and delete any event (not just their own), as well as manage categories, tags, and links.

    Author
An Author can create, edit, publish, and delete only their own events, as well as upload files and images. Authors do not have access to modify events by other users.

    Event Contributor
A Contributor can create and edit only their own events, but cannot publish them. When one of their events is ready to be published or has been revised, the Administrator needs to be notified personally by the Contributor to review it. Furthermore, once a Contributor’s event is approved and published by an Administrator, it can no longer be edited by the Contributor.

    Hope this helps.

    Take care,
    Ben

    Hi Ben,

I have a user (an Author( who just submitted an event, and it ended up “Pending” not “Approved”. Is there some setting I need to adjust?

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi Kim,

There is no option for this, but the author can access the backend and publish event.
