LOVE this theme! It is exactly what I hoped for – thank you!

    Couple questions:
    1. Is the theme compatible with Ecwid? I can make it work but Ecwid uses “store” page instead of “shop” page so I can’t customize the shop page side bar. ?? It would be great if there was a way to designate the shop page where you choose the static front page customize options(like front page and post page).

    2. My customize options are overlapping on the THEME OPTIONS page. The left hand column. Where it says, “General, Header, Background, etc.” are overlapping with where it says, “Layout, Comments, etc.” It didn’t used to do that but happened after I updated WP. Any way to fix that?

Whoopsie, it sent before I was done.

I gave up on WooCommerce after spending 2 days trying to configure the shipping and taxes. Ecwid is so much easier and I like the way it looks better so I would love to be able to use it with Fruitful.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    I’m from Ecwid team.

Glad to hear you liked Ecwid! Hope I will be able to help you with the questions regarding Ecwid.

    1. Is the theme compatible with Ecwid? I can make it work but Ecwid uses “store” page instead of “shop” page so I can’t customize the shop page side bar. ?? It would be great if there was a way to designate the shop page where you choose the static front page customize options(like front page and post page).

Ecwid plugin automatically creates ‘Store’ page when you install it so that you could have a ready online store page right after installation. On the other hand, the page itself is a regular WordPress page so you can customize it as well as any other page on your site: you can change its name, template and content in your WP admin backend -> Pages section. Please do not remove Ecwid short codes from the page content though – Ecwid relies on those codes.

So, you can navigate to your “Pages” setting page, find the ‘Store’ page and rename it to “Shop” or any other name. As to the old ‘Shop’ page, you can either hide or remove it from your site, o, what is even better, you can configure a redirect from the old page address to the new one so that all of your old links will work. The latter approach is the best for SEO.

    2. My customize options are overlapping on the THEME OPTIONS page. The left hand column. Where it says, “General, Header, Background, etc.” are overlapping with where it says, “Layout, Comments, etc.” It didn’t used to do that but happened after I updated WP. Any way to fix that?

I am not sure what could cause this as I am not a theme author. But probably you could provide a screenshot so that I or another community member would check it out. Thanks.

So what I found was when I rename the page to shop, the title changes but even after editing the permalink to shop, it automatically renames the page shop-2 and keeps the “page” format rather than “shop” format.

I haven’t created a shop page so it must be a template? I’m just wondering how to create one that uses the “shop” widgets rather than page or blog widgets.

So what I found was when I rename the page to shop, the title changes but even after editing the permalink to shop, it automatically renames the page shop-2

That’s because you already have the ‘Shop’ page, so WordPress doesn’t allow you to have two pages with the same URL. Even if you remove the old shop page, it’s still in your Trash folder and still has its unique URL. You may want to remove the page permanently (remove from trash) in order to assign its name and address to another page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#deleting-permanently

keeps the “page” format rather than “shop” format.

You can choose the format of your links in the Permalinks section of your WordPress admin backend. See this article for the details: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Permalinks

Ecwid plugin doesn’t create any template, it uses your existing default page template instead.

You have been so helpful! Thank you! I was able to go in and recover the old page – change its name to shopold and then change the ecwid store page to shop. I had to manually change the slug on both to get it to stop auto-reverting back to shop-2.

I still can’t figure out how to get the SHOP page widgets to show up (versus the BLOG Right side bar). But it’s fine as I don’t really need any for the time being.

Thanks again for the great support!

P.S. I also noticed, whenever I go to the shop page and then either go back to another page or close it, it kicks me out of wp-admin. Is this a built in issue or is there a way to prevent that?
    Thanks!

    You’re always welcome!

Can you elaborate on this a bit? Maybe you could provide a link to the page where I can see what you mean by ship widgets and blog widgets?

Do you mean the frontend shop page or the page management section in your WP admin backend?
