    I tried several times to update. But all I get is an error

    Hello @trubinwordpress ,

    we are really sorry for the problem you are facing.
    This is probably due to a time out problem during the update process that is affecting some hosting service.

    So we can suggest you a workaround.

    Try to download the plugin and install i as explained in the steps below:

    – go to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backwpup/ and use the “Download” button to download the latest version of the plugin
    – after download it, connect to your server via FTP, go into the plugin folder (wordpress-root > wp-contents > plugins) and remove and replace the “backwpup” folder with the one that you find in the downloaded package (remember to unzip it, and find the folder named “backwpup”)

    This way your plugin should be updated to the latest version.
