Yeaaaah, your site is munching the layout there, but good.

Master linux site church-profiles.org the following are domains registered but the are add-on sites to church-profiles.org

    commandsolutions.org
    itshallbefood.com
    itshallbefood.us
    moaod.biz
    myoneandonlydesigns.com
    mythoughts.pro

Untill a few months ago I had church-profiles.org on a wordpress with wordpress-mu-domain-mapping. When I went to add mythoughts.pro the automated add placed it on a window server. I have spent alot of time trying to figure out what happened and gate staff corrected.

I was still getting errors and no page load.

I deleted all under “/” and reinstalled church-profiles.org and the press works.

I turned on “wordpress-mu-domain-mapping” and the activation works for church-profiles.org

    Okay.

    1) You don’t use ADD ON domains with Multisite domain mapping, you PARK them on top of the main domain, and map them inside WP Multisite to the right sites.

    Thank you for the response.

when I say, “the[y] are add-on sites to church-profiles.org”, I am not reffering to the link to add on sites. I might have it wrong but
I am refering to the fact that they are on a domain only plans and only church-profiles.org has a hosting plan. I think all domains were added by ADNS.

I did not used the site add on link. I did have had issues with that before.

Is this what you expected from that terminology?

Going to read the link you sent, thanks again.

FYI, the term ‘add on’ refers to domains that are hosted on your main install, but in their own folder (much like subdomains).

PARKED domains are ones that are parked directly on top of your main domain.

So for example. ipstenu.org is my main domain. halfelf.org is PARKED on top of ipstenu.org. They both go to the same place. The domain mapping plugin then says ‘Aha! halfelf.org gets its data from tech.ipstenu.org.’

You need to verify first that you really did PARK the domains., and that they are ALL pointing to church-profiles.org

disregard if it feels better, lol
I have moved commandsolutions.org to bluehost from gate.com. I created 6 individual wordpresses on the new bluehost account, commandsolutions.org, itshallbefood.com, itshallbefood.us, moaod.biz, myoneandonlydesigns.org, and mythoughts.pro. These work, well tweeking on mythoughts.pro keeps it offling a bit. There is nothing of value in any of these wordpresses to date.

I want to get these all under one install (commandsolutions.org) before I add pluggins and themes. That is what I will be dealing with after I try to get the database over.

Currently trying to retrieve data from mysql-churchprofiles.church-profiles.org before I move the domain.

For some reason the data import in the phpMyAdmin on bluehos can not import any of the databases I exported from the phpMyAdmin on gate.com. They (bluehost) tells me that the import fromgate.com is attempting to make tables. I have exported, tried, deleted, tried aqain, ad nauseum. It is like gate.com is reaching out for me from beyond.

on the personal side I am a B.I.T.C.H. as well. I am a rogue in that I get into anything I want to think about. This coding is not something I want to try again. I was doing some C++ and gui and back in the mid to late 80s. I like the logic but I am conceptual to a fault, and the fault is I do not seem to memorize but rather recreate from what I locked into conceptual acceptance. The half elf is not me I always associated with grey elves or plain humans. You feel to me like a friend of mine Kyle https://www.beats4legends.com/.

To be candid I am very nonseequator. I have to much in the head and to little keeping my attention

    and

They (bluehost) tells me that the import fromgate.com is attempting to make tables.

Okay. That’s actually pretty true. See a DATABASE import creates the tables for your site. And if you look in there, you will see all the sites (because they were individual) have the same prefix probably. wp_whatever

You can’t import them like that.

Really the better way would have been to install commandsolutions.org, turn on Multisite, make your subsites, and then export via the WP Export tool from the others and move them over one at a time. Attempting to merge DATABASES is a nightmare.

The only way to import them as you have them is to go into each DB export you made, and edit them as follows:

    1) Create the site on commandsolutions.org
    2) MAKE NOTE of the site ID (first site you make will be 2)
    3) Search replace that site’s DB export for wp_ and replace with wp_2_
    4) Import
    5) Repeat and increment

Like I said, nightmare. AND if your users aren’t the same, it could still go bibbeldy :/

    Thread Starter mythoughts

    (@mythoughts)

Well I deleted all from the public_html. and created a fresh install on the primary, commandsolutions.org.

Then Allowed multisight, added .htaccess and wp-config.php generated scripts. turned multipress on.

I can goto the add domain page but when i submit it processes but does not map the primary.

I can get to the wp-admin for all sub directories sites.
I can only visit the primary site.
All other domains goto the set /subdir and shows the files in the directory.

Absent minded is not even close lately

Okay. So we’re at ground zero.

You’ve got the domain mapping plugin in, did you add the domain itshallbefood.com yet and point it to the main install of https://www.commandsolutions.org/ ? It should just be a simple domain park at this point.

    Thread Starter mythoughts

    (@mythoughts)

    Doh!

not depressed anymore, but going sloowww. About to delete the root to nothing and delete all databases and remake wordpress with simple tools or the wordpress icon (bluehost) and rebuild the thing again from the ground up. At least I found one reason why pointing would be off.

I changed wp_ to a unique nomenclature but my unique typing added the shift and all my tables began with “Table_(momenclature)” and there is no way I am interested in playing seek and find through the whole database, it would be bad enough with a single, but mine goes to like 8 or 9 ( and no idea where I got the extra unless it relates to not wiping something from a previous install)

Well my inate machinations to make things harder than they need to be is alive and well. I have done this so many ways, following this or that example I am going to do this without looking at anything but the cPanel, phpMyAdmin, File Manager, and maybe Domain Manager but I think I will leave them all parked where they are.

I think the part I was missing for so long was allowing multisite first.

    Moderator Ipstenu (Mika Epstein)

Yeah, starting with Multisite, rather than ten separate sites, is actually easier in this case.

The old sites are still up and running? I mean, as fugly as it is, you CAN export from them and import to the new ones at commandsolutions.org/subsite – You’ll be able to import all posts, authors and comments. The heavy lifting is building the design out again, which really isn’t THAT hard, thanks to WP’s modularity.

I was distracted “squirrel” many times
but all back to were I was. I gave up on pulling posts in just want to get it straight

BEFORE you muck around with mapping, you MUST make sure the sites work as SUBFOLDERS.

    Horse, then cart ??

    So commandsolutions.org/mtpro/ isn’t working at all, it’s a 404. Mapping ain’t never gonna work.

Also commandsolutions.org has links to mythoughts.pro – This is problematic, as your MAIN SITE should only have ONE domain (there’s a reason for this). You didn’t try to map a domain to your main site, did you?

ONE domain is the master domain. You seem to have jumbled two, so which is it SUPPOSED to be?

    Thread Starter mythoughts

    (@mythoughts)

They were working as sub folders. I was always able to snap that into place. When they were cross mapping was when I was trying something new and was a bit despondent and did not care.

I have wiped all databases and content on public_html. commandsolutions is the primary and has the wordpress in but not tweeked. The other six domains are now addons and the have basic untweeked functionality in place. Just hate to have to add the thems and pluggings for each.

    C’est la vie ..

They were working as sub folders.

Having never been able to see them, I really can’t say much for that. The cross mapping in and of itself was oddly done.

All you really have to do is park the domains on top of the master (commandsolutions) and use the plugin to point each domain to the appropriate site.

    Thread Starter mythoughts

    (@mythoughts)

I wanted each domain to keep it’s own domain. mythoughts.pro is pointed to bluehost, but bluehost does not support .pro but I could park and set it to addon. I set all to add-on and to park at different timesd. I put mythoughts.pro back to add-on cause it was taking the place of commandsolutions.org.

When it was parked it overrides the primary. Honestly, I have lost what interest I had in learning to make it more efficient.

    Adding plugins now, bitter sweet.
