• After months working on a professional theme I purchased, I am about to dump WPress all together and go back to Dreamweaver and HTML !! Editing for months getting things positioned correctly, spacing, showing the buttons, and come to find out my website looks messed up on the other browsers. Text and pics are overlapping another element in one browser and not in another. Just didnt have these issues with HTML. I place a box with pic and text somewhere, it stayed there.

I usually work in Chrome so I get all the design looking good and think I am done, and happen to go look in IE9 and many things are not working, and moved, overlapping, etc.. and messed up. From my hosting stats/reports I can see that just as many still use IE8,9,10 as much as Chrome and IE11 so the design still HAS to work with older browsers.

I am thinking I am wasting my time designing and spend tons of hours in WPress.

    Your thoughts ?
    Paul

  • Hey Paul,

Don’t get dishearten by wp. It’s the best and 98% of my work is in wp and I have more than 80 WP clients in last 1 year or so.

Can you please explain your problem in detail, so that I might be able to help you.

    Cheers ??

Thanks Tejas. That is very kind of you.

The “Home” page, the Google map doesn’t show at all and the tab FAQs are wacked up and the more info links should be blue buttons. Even in Tab/FAQ section, the one with “Where do session take place” – the answer text and pic are overlapping the contact form in IE9, 11 and Firefox but looks fine in Chrome.

The “About Studio” page – the tabs there are again all messed up, no borders showing around the sign up and payment boxes, and map isn’t showing.

All of the Pages with the Gallery template (masonry grid) (which makes 85% of my pages on my whole site) are showing the album pics way too big and not the same as Chrome, Firefox, etc.. number of columns are wrong, everything looks wrong so this is a big deal too.

The home page is https://paulalfordphotography.com/ and I appreciate any help you can give. I am ready to throw this thing out.

    Hey Paul,

Try deactivating “Wp Super Cache” temporarily and see whether does that makes any difference ?

Please let me know how it renders after that

    Hey Paul,

One more thing I noticed that home page took pretty good time to load but once it was loaded completely, I did see google map at the bottom and also FAQ tabs were functioning correctly.

No sir, just tried that and both IE9 and Firefox still have home page tabs texts and pics overlapping the contact form

If you look at my home page in IE9, tab text all mixed up and no map

Click on tabs “Where do sessions take place” and you will see the text and pic overlapping. At least it does on both my desktops in IE9 and Firefox

    Paul,

Can you please send me screen shot. I tried seeing that in fire fox, chrome as well but to me it seems ok. Where you are finding difficulty, I want to know exactly.

So, please send me screen shot of your scrambled view etc.

    Tejas

Ya, it’s breaking in IE but for me it’s ok in firefox and chrome.

Just check whether any of the plugin you might ve used are compatible with IE or your version of FF

Please send me screen shot if possible

I really wanna solve problem for you buddy!

This is major to me too…
