• Im coming in here to see if I can get some assistance from the community on an issue that I have had for the past week.

Out of nowhere, my ability to upload photos has started to result in the error “0 images uploaded”

I am a Nextgen PRO user – I have had a back and forth with Nextgen support for multiple emails. I am unable to upload images to my gallery, and keep receiving 0 images uploaded errors.

Anyways, my inability to upload also has a few other issuse – such as not being able to change the gallery format. Ive asked for resolution on that too,b ut havent had a response to that part of the query.

The things that I have tried to get rid of the 0 images uploaded issue are as follows

    – unintalling flash – this is happening for all of my content contributors .. I tried it, but it made no difference
    – clear Nextgen cache – no result.
    – tried disabling several plugins that may be related, no result.
    – uploading smaller images – no result.
    – installed the Nextgen “reset” tool, no result. They had mentioned that this error message points to the wrong ajax call and that this tool might benefit my issue, alas, it didnt.
    – supplied credentials to Nextgen to log in via FTP, Beta was then installed

“We just installed the beta, the 0images is gone but there is an HTTP error remaining. I am on BlueHost as well and the one time I experienced that error, the server host tech crew modified a setting in the php.ini file associated with my site. They adjusted PHP Safe Mode to OFF, and that resolved the error. HTTP Errors are server related, so that change in the php.ini file should do the trick.”

Unfortunately, I didnt see this – the 0 images error was still there … Im not sure what support saw, but the error hadnt disappeared, and still, no uploading.

I then went in and checked my PHP.ini file, and the setting for PHP Safe mode was already set to off.

My latest reply was an email sending me a link to the Nextgen beta (that they had already installed), so Im still nowhere close to actually working this out.

Currently, this is the error that I am receiving

    “POST https://www.invurt.com/photocrati_ajax?action=upload_image&gallery_id=309&gallery_name= 400 (Bad Request) load-scripts.php?c=0&load%5B%5D=hoverIntent,common,admin-bar,heartbeat,wp-auth-check,wp-pointer,und…:54
    Object {code: -200, message: “HTTP Error.”, file: g.File, status: 400}
    code: -200
    file: g.File
    message: “HTTP Error.”
    status: 400
    __proto__: Object”

I am using the autoptimize plugin – but I have disabled that and the result is still the same

During this time, I also noticed some spikes in my CPU hosting, so I decided to upgrade to Bluehost PRO to alleviate any 500 errors that may have been occurring due to my maxing out the cpu. This doesnt seem to have helped Nextgen, though the site certainly seems faster now in general.

My issue also is in the support system that Photocrati uses – every time I send a reply email, it just goes to a generic email address. I have now had replies form at least 5 different people at Nextgen, each one of them seemingly not reading previous emails, sending me fixes that have already been tried and not checking the history of the issue. This is massively frustrating – it would be nice to just speak to one person, or that all the people were across the board on the issue or that the email was actually in a thread where they would read what has already happened on the support issue.

I use nextgen to post images every other day, it can make up to 50% of my site content – this issue has now been going on for a week and its actually crippling my publishing schedules.

Any other advice, from anyone else? Starting to get pretty desperate here, and the Photocrati support just doesnt seem to be providing any working solution =/

  • We are also experiencing a 0 images uploaded issue. We are using V 1.9.6 and NOT NextGEN PRO. We were able to load photos as late as last Monday, and no photo uploads have been possible since. I have tried all browsers at this point, different image size and formats, with and without Flash enabled, and I’ve checked several other things. The first error message said our CSS was missing something, but our CSS has not changed.

    Assistance would be welcome.

I’m also getting a similar error. I’ve ftp’ed some photos to a subdirectory of the gallery directory, and when I use the “Import Folder” I get “Could not import folder. No images found.” I’ve tried re-ftp’ing, eliminating spaces in names, changing file permissions.

Running Nextgen 2.0.31, WordPress 3.6.1, Mac OS X Server.

@facter: Erick here. I just saw this and went to check on your email conversation. I can see how you’d be frustrated. You’ve had the issue a while and it’s having a real impact, and you have had responses from several of our team.

For what it’s worth, it’s generally more faster and effective for us and users to have the first tech who sees each email reply pick it up and reply back. And I’d add that the betas the tech were providing were actually not the same. Each had additional changes that had the potential to resolve this, which is why they sent you multiple.

Regardless, I apologize if you felt you were being bounced around. I’ve just replied to that email again and I’ll await your email reply before making changes or troubleshooting further. Thanks!
