frustrating
-
For such a great plugin with so many features it’s also frustrating. I’m wondering if buying the pro edition fixes any of this?
I can’t view the event I created. The team stats don’t pull from the info I added to the event. Team stats that is, player stats all show up. Nothing for the Team though, it’s as if the event never happened. Trying to view the actual event I get a 404 page error.
Please help. We have a live event going on and this is now occuring when it didn’t happen on our demo.

@reaser With the 404 errors, you probably need to flush permalinks. Please go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes to solve those issues.
Team stats will pull from the event but only if the stats are left blank. If you enter your own stats, they will override anything that the events generate. You can reveal the automatic stats by editing the team and deleting any of the manual stats that you’ve already entered.
Also be sure that the teams belong to the same competitions and seasons as the events themselves.
Hope this helps!
Teams definitely in same season and competition because I’ve only created one at this point so I know that’s good.
I tried the permalinks before because I saw that when searching. However, we just moved the site to the live host so I will try that again. I just didn’t think I’d have to do that again.
So regarding stats now I’m confused. I did go to the event directly and enter the stats. If that’s not where I do it, what is the correct process, did I miss that in documentation somehwere?
When the event is live, where should I be enter stats, for ex. Games Played should register 1, then for ice hockey, goals, assists and so on. I don’t see anywhere else that would make sense to enter this stuff.
Brian please explain this as it makes no sense and I need to get this working.
“Team stats will pull from the event but only if the stats are left blank. If you enter your own stats, they will override anything that the events generate. You can reveal the automatic stats by editing the team and deleting any of the manual stats that you’ve already entered.”
You say stats pull from the event BUT only if left blank. “well if you leave event stats blank – where do you put in the goals, assists and game info?
You can reveal the automatic stats by editing the team and deleting any stat I entere – I didn’t enter stats under the team. I did it in the event player list.
@reaser Could you attach some screenshots of the team and event admin pages?
@reaser Thanks. It looks like everything is correct. Have you added anything in the Event Results section at the top? And have you configured the equations for the table columns? If you paste the output from SportsPress > System Status I could have at look at that as well.

Any luck on this?
@reaser Could you also check that you’ve added details and selected an Outcome in the “Event Results” section? It’s above the “Box Score” section when editing the event (currently minimized, so you’ll have to click it to reveal)
@brian I have gone back and entered data into that field as shown here. And if you go to my site you’ll see still nothing appears.
I’m going to go back to the test site and delete everything and start over and see if I did something along the way that broke something.
Also I’m using SportClub theme which has it’s own Event feature. it also uses the url /event/
I’m wondering if this is why I can’t view the events page. I have done everything I’ve seen in these forums and still can’t get the even page to display. Still get the 404 error.

@reaser That might be the issue. You can change the SportsPress event URLs by going to Settings > Permalinks then scrolling down to the SportsPress section.
See this video for a quick walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuHmsdVyjU8
@reaser It also looks like we need to configure the event outcomes. You can do this from SportsPress > Configure, and selected a Condition for Win and Loss.
See this walkthrough on configuring automatic outcomes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCVfPv2O5yY
Brian thank you so much for all of your help! I’m going to leave this open for just a day or two, once I get all the stats entered I’ll mark this as resolved.
I now have data auto populating. I greatly appreciate your patience and knowledge. You have earned a paid customer.
@reaser Glad I could help ??
