FSE Page Templates – Different Background Color

  • I have a block theme that has a single color background. I want to have certain pages with a white background top to bottom. In the theme editor, I created a new template but editing the background color changes the bg for the entire site. I want to be able to assign the new template to certain pages where I need the bg to be white. What am I missing?

    This is not a theme issue. I could duplicate the same issue with Twenty Twenty-Four or any block theme. In the block theme, If you want to add a page template that has a different background color, how do you accomplish that without changing the be for the whole site?
