Hi. I am trying to setup the backup to go to FTP. The folder has 777 permissions and yet it tells me that it is not able to create a file in the given directory. Thank you.

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the latest full backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

Hi Bryle. Here is the log you asked.
Remember: I want to FTP the backup to another location on my server.
    Thank you so much.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

The log you sent me shows that the backup has successfully completed.
“0206.140 (0) The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete”
If so then the backup files should have been sent to your server.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Thank you Bryle but the issue as I mentioned is during ftp setup. I want to ftp the backup to another folder in my server which has 777 permissions. This is the response I get:

    mexas.org says
FTP settings test result: Failure: we successfully logged in, but were not
able to create a file in the given directory.

What are you using in the “Remote path” field?

    (@stathi)

I have tried everything. This is the path.

    Hi,

The filepath in the UpdraftPlus settings is relative to the FTP user root directory, so you shouldn’t enter the full path.
Could you also ensure that the file has also been created in your FTP storage.

So, in other words, I cannot save the backup anywhere else except in the hardcoded default upload folder or in the FTP directory. Correct?

    That’s correct
