ftp changes not visible

    I am building a theme, and when i change any of my files and upload via FTP none of the changes are visible in WP, though I can see them on the server.

    I thought this could be a permissions problem, but changing permissions all the way to 777 doesn’t help…

  • usually this is a browser cache issue
    clear your cache after uploading and see if that does it for you

    thanks for the help, I cleared the cache but nothing changed.

    I downloaded some of the files from the server just to be sure that the changes were really in place, and they are there on the server.

    Are you sure you uploaded them to the right directory?

    Just a thought. When I was still working a lot on my theme, I often had to switch themes and back in order to see the changes. No idea why, but it always worked.

    Thanks for the ideas – I decided to reinstall wp, update my ftp client, and log in as a different user to ftp.

    Not sure which was the problem, but now it all works!
