FTP credentials for upgrades?

  • I just installed wordpress on my own server. I’m having trouble figuring out what my FTP credentials are that I should be putting in for updates. I’m at the screen that says:

    To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you do not remember your credentials, you should contact your web host.

    I have tried “localhost”, “127.0.0.1”, “ftp.localhost.com”, and my outside IP address.

    I know I have my username and password correct.

    Anyone know what I should be entering for my hostname?
