As required in the wizard, I created a folder on the FTP to hold the package and installer. I titled the folder “WP_Install.” This folder name became part of my url, and now my url doesn’t work without including /WP_Install.

    Here’s the site: https://erinholmberg.com/WP_Install/

    What have I done wrong?

When I tried to launch the site without putting the package/installer into a folder on the FTP (as described in the Duplicator wizard) I got an error message.

Help! ?? Everything else went without a hitch. Thanks for the awesome plugin!

UPDATE: I contacted the host provider, and they broke the above link during their efforts to correct the issue. Supposedly, the site is currently propagating with the correct URL, but I’ll believe it when I see it! ??

Any suggestions you have based upon the description in my previous post would still be very appreciated. I still don’t know what caused this issue in the first place . . .

    THANK YOU!

UPDATE 2: I changed the folder name to “portfolio” so that it doesn’t look like a mistake to the world at large! ??

    Here’s the site: https://erinholmberg.com/portfolio/

I’d still love your thoughts & suggestions since I don’t know what caused this issue, or how to *really* fix it.

No matter what, this plugin is great and I will definitely recommend it. ??

    Hey Erin,

I can’t really offer any suggestions if I don’t know what the error that you were seeing was…

    Cheers~

After combing through the forums, this problem appears to be related to the iPage/Duplicator compatibility issues others have had. Oh boy! ??

iPage doesn’t allow an install through the root folder, so I created the sub folder “portfolio”. What I don’t understand is why that becomes inextricable from my url. I tried “public_html”, but that resulted in a url of erinholmberg.com/public_html — so I switched back to “portfolio” ??

If anyone has more suggestions, I’m still searching. Thanks again!

UPDATE: I contacted customer service at iPage, and they corrected this issue for me. I asked how they did it, so I can do it myself in the future — and they said, “Just contact us if you have this issue again.” hmm

Anyway, thanks for your help — and this great plugin!
