FTP Help

    I need to install the upgrade for my theme and have instructions on how to do so… my problem is accessing the directory. In a previous post I was advised to use an FTP program to access the wp-content/theme folder however I am unfamiliar with connecting to website via FTP. What is the host? Are the user name and password the same as my WP account login info? Do I need a port? FYI I am using FileZilla.

  • Who have you hosted it with?

    Your FTP details are different to your WordPress account details. They should be available from your hosting company – did you get an email when you first set it up?

    Check out your hosting company’s website and see if you can’t get help there – to be honest this isn’t really a WordPress issue and you’re more likely to find the answer with your hosting company’s tech support.
