Is there an easier way to upload photos into a gallery that is already created? I can see the path when i make the gallery as /wp-content/gallery/path_to_my_new_gallery

I can see the folder via FTP and when i uploaded 2 images as a test, then refreshed the gallery list it still shows zero images in the gallery

It’s just that uploading via the WordPress page if i try to do more than 10 images in a group, most fail and i have to go back and figure out which ones uploaded and which ones didn’t

It has gotten somewhat better since i made some changes to my account as per this but it is still a PITA to upload

    thank you

    Hi,

I am glad to help, you probably have a not so capable server, our plugin has some minimum requirements https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/ also the execution time needs to be a bit high, I have seen many hosting companies have 30 or 45 seconds at most.

You can upload your images via FTP to a gallery folder, then go to NextGEN Gallery > Manage Galleries > Choose your gallery, open gallery settings and hit “Scan Folder For New Images”

Alternatively you can upload your gallery inside a folder, or several galleries inside a folder, then you can import each folder to a new gallery, go to NextGEN Gallery > Add Gallery/Images, choose “import folder” and navigate to the folder you want to import to a gallery, set a gallery title and then click “import/import-folder”.

Hi Jamie – thank you – that ‘Scan Folder For New Images’ may be the game changer i’m looking for – that part i did not do after i did the FTP of the 2 test files.

I will test that this evening – much appreciated!

No problem, I am glad to hear all is working well for you.

You can always check our documentation when you have any doubt or question first too

    Thanks.

A stupid question: is that option only available on the Plus/Pro package? It’s just that I don’t see that option anywhere…

Here is a screenshot of what I’m supposed to be seeing, according to the online documentation: https://imgur.com/URafs8c

Here is what my own admin panel shows: https://imgur.com/eiAtzl7

You can see that the two other options are missing…

Granted, I can always use the WP-CLI to ‘force’ the re-scan of the images, or directly messing up with the database, but you’ll agree it’s not the best way to proceed…

    Hi,

Those options should appear there in the free version, do you have the latest NextGEN version and the correct permissions on your site?

    Please double check.
