• I am trying to update to the newest WordPress. Not long ago, I had to delete a username/password for FTP (not my WP username, etc) through my host. Now, WordPress is asking for my FTP user ID/password, but instead of allowing me to type the new ones into the boxes that pop up with the error message, the typing is in light gray and I can’t type in the boxes with the new info.

My host says it’s a WordPress issue. Where do I go to type in the new FTP information?

    Thanks so much!

Hi and thank you for the link. I’m having a really hard time making sense of it and wonder if it requires some experience with coding, which I do not have.

If anyone knows of a way I can update FTP username and password on wordpress from the dashboard, with no coding required, I would be so, so appreciative.

There isn’t such an option. This is a server-related issue and the wp-config.php changes are the only ones that may solve your problem.
