I have been successful moving sites to a new SQL database and server using phpMyAdmin.
SQL data moves fine, then I FTP to grab the themes/plugins/images and I’m ready to update the wp-config to point to the new site.

But, on my site, https://recipebuzz.net, the move fails. It seems the theme OneNews uses a bit of a different structure, and after the move, only the first page loaded, other pages return an error. I flipped back to the old setup and it’s running off old database.

The structure itself appears a bit different, for example, the blog page is populated by choosing a category (“blog”) and only posts with that category get loaded there.

Is there a simple way to understand how to move such a blog and keep its structure and widgets, etc.?

    I would try
    turning off all plugins
    switch to twenty ten theme
    then do export / import

on new blog activate your theme and test
    then plugins one by one

This theme doesn’t seem to survive a change. When I first set it up, I switched themes, and switched back to the customization all gone.
