    • In the menu option https://the5krunner.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php, I have always had the following setting: “For each post in a feed, include EXCERPT”. Yet I just noticed today that an email with the full content has been sent.
    • I subscribe to my site as a checking mechanism. Analysing old emails I received for new posts going back several weeks before they were deleted; I see this problem has persisted for quite some time.
    • How can I change this?
    • I’ve tried turning on, saving, and then reverting the settings and saving. I use Yoast and GN publisher. I don’t think any other tool I use will have an impact other than jetpack
    • In jetpack, https://the5krunner.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/newsletter I have the setting Jetpack: “Let visitors subscribe to this site and receive emails when you publish a post=Enabled”
    • thank you in advance

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @the5krunner

In your WordPress.com dashboard, if you go to Settings > Newsletter and look for this section:

What do you have set there?

    thank you

    that setting was set correctly

The problem was with Jetpack. I had DISABLED it but, presumably, when I last had it enabled this setting was made:

    https://the5krunner.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/newsletter

“For each new post email, include FULL TEXT”

so even tho jetpack was disabled it overrode the correct word press setting. I could chage the wordpress setting to the wrong value, save, revert and save again, but that still did not override what jetpack had incorrectly left behind

My resolutiuon was to re-enable Jetpack have set the newsletter to EXCERPT…all seems good now

Thanks for the update. I’m not sure what you experienced was expected behavior, so I’ll look into that a little more on our end.

    thanks.

i’ve extensively gone through things with my hosting comppany and they are adamant its not them and that the hangining I experience is not triggering faults at their end.

as i say, it jsut seems to be firefox.

when i have the issue (I’d previsouly assuemd it was a server fault) , unitl recently i’d never tried a separate browser (Edge) and when i do that browser seems to work

the hanging seems to be associated with SOME image uploads, defintiely not specifically linked to multiple or large images. just uploading.

    Hi @the5krunner

Is this a separate issue? I looked at your Jetpack connection and everything looks good. Can you tell us some more about the hanging issues?

    Thread Starter the5krunner

    (@the5krunner)

sorry separate issues, please ignore that follow up
