I’ve had an old version of WordPress running for a while, but my host just rearranged things and I was getting strange errors so I decided to upgrade to the latest.
I used to have my site at moneydick.com/wordpress, so I just started a whole new install at moneydick.com/blog. I did a normal install and it looked fresh and clean, but I now want to get all my old data back into the new install.
I backed up the database and pasted it in with phpmyadmin, went to moneydick.com/blog/wp-admin/upgrade.php and hit the upgrade button and it looked like it worked just fine. But when I go to the site nothing shows up.
I believe I upgraded from one or two releases before the current. I may have pasted the sql tables in too haphazardly, but I’m not sure.
    Thanks if you can help!

  • I did the same change in subdirectory names and discovered there were a number of directory name inclusions in the database. I exported the database and opened it in a text editor and searched for wordpress/ and replaced it with blog/

I think there were five or more places on the configuration and every post had it (I had about 60 posts)

Then I emptied the tables and imported the sql file I’d edited and all is fine.

Wouldn’t sware this will work for you, but it might. ??

Which part is so difficult to understand in the upgrade instructions about the sequence of operations?
