Full width footer widget

I’m very disappointed that the only built in options for the footer widgets are all vertical with no horizontal, full width options. Is there a way to make one full width that works with the vertical ones also? I want the copyright line to look like what it usually does on sites where it’s at the bottom in just one centered line. Even better would be for it to be in the section with the theme credit…
