I specified a short-ish Youtube video (2 minutes 30 seconds) to be a slide, with sound, and the video never loads, instead moving on after the default 20 seconds to the next slide. (It DOES play in the preview.) Is there a time limit for video play, or do you have to exactly specify “start at second 1” and “end at second [final second]”? I was using Chrome to view.

Hi there, could you send me the Youtube video URL and even better the URL of your display? I’ll investigate.

Should work just fine with start & end left blank, and I am not aware of any time limitations.

From my experience, I have found that it sometimes has to cycle through the slides a few times for the YouTube videos to play properly. Granted, your experience my vary.

I am having the same problem with YouTube videos not playing. Ive tried several, long and short.

    Hey guys,

Could you send me as much input as possible?

    – At least the URL of your display,
    – and what browser and platform you are using. Eg. Chromium on Raspberry Pi, Chrome on Android 6 mini-pc, Safari on Mac OSX, Firefox on Windows 10, ..
    – Does it work when switching to another browser?
    – Does it work when editing or previewing the slide?
    – What do you see, what happens..?

I need this info to see what you are seeing, so I can help.

So far I haven’t seen any YouTube slide problems, except when using underpowered hardware (Raspberry Pi, some Android devices) or unreliable or slow internet connection.

Email sent to you with the details.

The new update for self hosted video works great however!

Any Ideas? I had emailed you late last week.

Hey @dodgedesigns, received your email. Currently can’t find the YouTube slide on your display. Could you re-add it so I can investigate? Or maybe add it to a new display for test purposes. To be sure: does the YouTube also not play when viewing the display?

Hi @dodgedesigns, found the problem for your situation. Some Javascript in your theme is conflicting with Foyer. This is a known issue that I could not solve yet, still looking for a smart workaround.

If you have the chance you could maybe disable the code marked ‘formstone v1.1.3 [background.js]’ in your parent theme file js/theme-plugins.js and see what happens.

@ebedgert — can you provide me with as much input as possible so I can troubleshoot this for you? At least the URL of your display, with a YouTube slide included.
