I would like to know what is the function of the wp_options table in my SQL database. What would happen to my WP site if I deleted the wp_options table and all of the entries in it?

    Howdy!

Not sure if you have seen this Codex page yet: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Database_Description

It might be fairly outdated but does give some information on the other tables as well.

The options table holds all the site-wide settings for the site. This includes pretty much everything in the Settings pages, as well as most theme settings, plugin settings, and largely everything else.

If you deleted it, your site would be horribly broken and you would need to restore from a backup.
